Project Manager

Pacific Pros is seeking experienced Project Manager to be a representative for public agencies supervising the Port facilities.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties of a Project Manager are

  • Support multiple program managers on multiple capital and expense projects
  • Utilize, interpret and apply the guidelines in the Program Delivery Manual to deliver capital projects from preliminary design through construction.
  • Assist program managers to monitor project budgets
  • Review consultant’s contractual agreements to ensure commitments are within budget
  • Recommend cost adjustments and reallocate funds as needed for managing project costs
  • Assist program managers with review of change orders to ensure scope consistency and proper documentation
  • Provide contingency usage and forecast recommendations to program managers
  • Create trend analysis on project expenditures
  • Document Management tasks as needed including: manage standardized uniform filing system; upload documents into the document control system (Unifier)
  • Creating reports to help the Program Managers predict performance and take action
  • Schedule and lead workshops with project managers of various capital projects to complete the Envision checklist for each project at multiple phases of projects.
  • Guide Project Managers through Port’s Sustainability process and provide recommendations to improve Envision scores.

Required Qualifications

  • US Employment Authorization without needing sponsorship
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, environmental planning, business, accounting or related field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven experience in working on complex, multi‐phase, multi‐million-dollar design and construction projects. The candidate must be flexible and able to assist the Program Managers in their daily tasks of managing a project, as well as support the Port’s Sustainability Program by hosting workshops with Program Managers to complete the Envision checklist.
  • Have a clear understanding of project cost, schedule, design, documentation, and quality control principles,
  • Able to multi‐task and work in a fast‐paced work environment.
  • A valid Driver’s License and compliance with Pacific Pros’ Vehicle Policy
  • Proficiency with common Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel , PowerPoint and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat (PDF files)
  • Pre-employment drug test. Also, subject to drug and alcohol testing during the course of employment in accordance with Pacific Pros’ Drug, Alcohol and Illegal Items Policy
  • 3+ Reference from Clients (Public Agency Representatives)
  • 5+ years of direct project management of capital projects including buildings, tenant improvements and infrastructure.
  • 5+ years working with establishing budgets, tracking and managing project budgets, project and contract change orders, and project closeout or auditing
  • 1+ year experience working on sustainable projects including experience utilizing the Envision checklist to assess capital projects.
  • Proficiency with large‐scale cost reporting or project management software
  • Advanced use of Excel knowledge including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and Power Query

Preferred Qualifications

  • ENV‐SP is highly desirable
  • PMP Certification is desirable
  • Professional licensure in any state is desirable
